About Us
The Hospital Cooperative (THC) was established with the assistance of a 2000 HRSA Rural Network Development Grant. Among its accomplishments, THC has:
- Created a telehealth network that includes teleradiology, telepsychiatry, and teleoncology
- Developed and supported 11 peer group networks including clinical, financial, and operations staff of the member hospitals to focus upon best practices
- Helped establish an associate Degree Registered Nurse program at ISU
- Created a Leadership Development educational workshop series to benefit managers/directors for members hospitals
- Negotiated 20 contracts achieving cost savings and operations efficiencies for THC members in the amount of over $8 million
- Worked with state agencies on issues related to CAH status and rural hospitals
- Developed collaborative relationships with state and regional partners to improve health care
- Developed various public health issue awareness events
